Dear Aunt Karen,
Can we find a good time to connect soon? I’d like to ask you a few questions about my dad. The older I get the more I wonder. Big questions, little questions—who was this guy? My son asked the other day, “Did your dad have a loud voice or a mean voice?” I told him I wasn’t sure, but possibly a gentle one. Did you have much contact with him before he died? I figure, hey—you’re his sister. Any information you can give me is more than I have.
Look forward to talking with you soon.

To the cool women who have touched my life--here's to you! If you get this twice you know you have more than one girlfriend. I am only as strong as the coffee I drink, the hairspray I use and the friends I have. It is good to be a woman:
1. We got off the Titanic first.
2. We don't have to pass gas to amuse ourselves.
3. We can talk to the opposite sex without having to picture them naked.
4. There are times when chocolate really can solve ALL your problems.
5. We can make comments about how silly men are in their presence because they aren't listening anyway.
Send this to all the bright women you know and make their day!!!!! LOVE YA! Mean it!

Aunt Karen!
You must be pretty busy. No one ever answers at your place. Could you e-mail me the best times to reach you? Or feel free to call my number anytime.
Hey, the Cubs are looking good this season! I bet my dad would’ve been thrilled. He was a lifelong fan, right? (My mother says yes, but her memory is suspect.) I almost hope they don’t make it to the World Series. How heartbreaking for it to finally happen after he’s died. He would’ve been 55 this year; today in fact, is his birthday, no?
I’d love to talk to you soon.

BLONDE LOGIC
IN A VACUUM
A blonde was playing Trivial Pursuit one night. It was her turn. She rolled the dice and she landed on Science & Nature. Her question was, "If you are in a vacuum and someone calls your name, can you hear it?"
She thought for a time and then asked, "Is the vacuum on or off?”

Aunt Karen,
It appears you’re on e-mail often, so hopefully you’ll have a second to read and respond to this. You do know my sisters and I didn’t know our dad right? That after the divorce he vanished? That he may not have recognized us if he passed us on the street? Can you help?
What kind of man was he? Did he talk about us? Would he have discussed personal things with you—his younger sister? Or was he so quiet, as my mother has said, that no one could know his thoughts and feelings?
Was he happy?
I realize you and I don’t really know each other, but you are my dad’s sister, a warm-blooded link to the dead who has his bloodshot, blue eyes and possibly some treasured insight. I would love to hear from you.
Your niece,
Jenny

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila and salt and call me over!!!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO what a ride!'
Have a wonderful day!
KEEP THE HAND OF FRIENDSHIP GOING! SEND TO SOMEONE WHO NEEDS A WAVE!!!

Aunt Karen,
I just spoke with my mother. She said my father wrote letters from Vietnam? She thinks he sent many to you. Is that true? If so, I can’t tell you what it would mean to me to be able to read them. I’ve never seen his handwriting. Are they funny letters? Or sad? Was he more intimate on the page than in person?
Would you send them to me?
I remember seeing him. I was young; he called me “Turkey.” I think he meant it kindly, that he found it funny. Does that sound right? It’s one of the few things I remember—that and his wiry mustache. Did it have a streak of red in it or am I imagining that?
If you don’t want to give up the letters, I’ll reimburse you for copies.
Thank you.
Jenny

Hey all! I don’t usually forward these things but this widely disseminated e-mail looked kinda fun. IMPORTANT: Answer every question or you won’t get the prize at the end. BE HONEST.
1. What are you doing rightnow?
2. Did you ever serve in Vietnam?
3. Did your brother?
4. What’s your favorite cookie?
5. What was your brother’s favorite cookie?
6. Do you know anyone who abandoned three young daughters then died early of a heart attack before they were reunited?
7. If yes to #6 above, why did he do that? (Abandon, that is. Everyone dies.)
8. Recreate, as best you can, the essence of one person’s soul in a paragraph or more.
CATCH THIS: If you live in the MIDWEST, make this paragraph about anyone with brown hair. If you live in NY, make it about someone who is younger than you. If your name starts with a ‘K’ and you live in Wyoming this paragraph must be about...your BROTHER!
DO THIS. THEN SEND IT TO EVERYONE IN YOUR ADDRESS BOOK OR YOUR PUP WILL SUFFER A TERRIBLE FATE. PLUS hey, it might make someone feel whole. Now GO!!!
BONUS: IF you have written correspondence from the person you wrote about in question #8 and that person is deceased and you send his correspondence via snail mail (huh, what’s that?! ) to just ONE interested party you could win one million dollars and a ride on angel’s wings.

SUBJ: FAMILY
When we began this adventure called womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we would need each other.
Every day, we need each other still.
Pass this gift of flowers on to all the women who help make your life meaningful. I just did. Short and so sweet.

Dear Aunt Karen,
I’ve been thinking a lot about everything you’ve said lately. Sometimes over e-mail it’s hard to know what you mean. What you’re trying to say, I guess, is:
Recipes are like a dating service. They never end up looking like the picture. There should be a support group for women who can’t put their dishes in the dishwasher dirty. I love a good meal so I don’t cook. The only thing I stir up in the kitchen is trouble. If it fits in a toaster I can cook it.
Now you’re cookin’!
Chocolate is a food group. I break for candy.
When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you have to walk it by yourself, the women in your life will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on. Sisters are there, no matter how many miles are between you. A girlfriend is never farther away than needing her can reach.
There are more than twenty angels in this world. Ten are peacefully sleeping on clouds. Nine are playing. And one is reading her email at this moment. Is it you? No, it’s me.
Be somebody’s angel.
Love is your husband shopping with you the day after Thanksgiving. Love is letting your best friend borrow your thong.
Life’s too short to pass on love.
Save a life; send this to everyone you know.
