Karen Zemanick is a psychiatrist who practices and teaches in Chicago, and is working toward her MFA at Northwestern University. She writes creative nonfiction and makes video essays. Recent work includes a film for the Art Institute of Chicago’s One-Minute Film Festival. Defunct in her life are Three Rivers Stadium, roller skating rinks, paper library cards, and eating ice cream at Isaly’s while watching the drive-in movie across the street, imagining the sound track.
